Great teams but management changes have negative impact

Pros

A good portion of the teams I worked with were wonderful people. There was longevity at the company, however that is now changing

Cons

The management changed hands in the past few years and not for the better. The board drives all decisions, and is composed of senior sales staff who own the company. I do not recommend the working environment at this time.

Pros

- They have hired a "corporate" team to help this company "grow up," from the standpoint of scaling the operation to increase revenue. They have some good people in place, but the push-back from the owners seems to bring a lot of consternation. The current owners' lack of corporate experience and inability to create processes, and best practices or hire consultants or experts to assist, has them drowning against competition. - There is some degree of flexibility with your manager regarding scheduling. - Reduction in force was the smartest thing this company could have done recently considering its current situation. As an employee who was let go, I was not surprised at all knowing that it was best for the company.

Cons

- Since owners (Sales) control the business, supporting staff and administration are unable to put processes in place to improve the business- this is the likely reason for the 4th "corporate" president being in place in the last couple of years. - There are so few (if any) processes in place that nothing is ever done correctly the first time; there is always constant re-work involved. There is ALWAYS a caveat to any request so nothing can ever be documented or repeatable. - There is no CRM software/system in place, therefore company depends on suppliers (or?) to give them sales leads. - There are likely 50+ Inside Sales positions which are truly customer service representatives taking orders over the phone (with credit cards no less!) rather than generating leads. - The Epicor Prophet 21 ERP system in place is clunky and labor-intensive regarding pricing and leaves a huge margin for regular errors. Owners failed to invest the correct $ since they do not see value in an ERP system, period. - The word "family" is used often and hypocritically. "We are a family- we need to support other departments." Ew. I can imagine this is because it is a small company - 200 employees, but I assure you, people were NOT treated as family. - The facility is HORRIBLE. It needs an overhaul, badly. They only allow work from home 2 days/a wk, but for office days, everyone is on Teams calls with headphones not realizing the levels of his or her volumes in adjacent offices and cubicles. It is not a productive work environment.
