Pros
The Company PPI, is actually a great company. I work for one of the smaller businesses they own, StampSource, The issues I have had are all with them and not PPI ..Pay is good and some of the people are well meaning and on board with making the improvements the company needs to go forward. The work is steady and the shop is always busy.
Cons
The largest problem is that everyone plays the blame game. Instead of looking at the fact that you have an old company with old machinery and you are trying to make it perform under current standards. Ignoring safety and the lean process, because no one could bother to figure out a schedule and now everything is behind. I was brought into the company to bring it up to date and get everyone up to speed on processes for productivity and keeping accidents and waste down. All of the plans that we so carefully laid out were thrown out the window and everyone continued to do things in a way that caused excessive late orders, waste of materials, and a lack of respect to the manufacturing process. I feel like I have wasted my time on a company that has no desire to change and improve, even though they constantly complain that they have no idea what's happening.
