    I worked at Postmedia Network

    Pros

$$, okay benefits not like it used to be. It’s a paycheque.

    Cons

New management believe in threatening employees rather than empowering them to succeed. Zero leadership, especially in Vancouver. They think they can buy out all the employees and hire their own superstars but no one lasts once they see the negative environment.

    Advice to Management

Get some people skills and leadership training. Your employees are your best assets!

I have been working at Postmedia Network full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Good pay and decent benefit package with occasional perks (depending on the team) - Good team members - Flexible working options - Interesting projects, working on large and new projects constantly. Meeting new people always.

    Cons

    - Old School thinking, nothing is tracked properly until recently. - Incompetent product teams, parts of the product team don't know what they are doing. - Can get boring sometimes, not enough work. - Slow in shipping product - Not consumer and data centric in decision making, rather opinion based. - Different rules for everybody

    Advice to Management

Let employees work from home, allow for change. Listen to new ideas, if your old ideas worked then the company would not have been in such a failed state. It can be saved, if the strategy is set right and a couple of competent hires are made. Pay well - hire the right people.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Postmedia Network full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Amazing people, made some great friends here. Shift work was available (depending on your department) so you could customize your hours and switch it up every few weeks. Would only recommend this job to younger people still living at home (so you can bank the little money you'll make) looking for experience and to expand your skills in patience, customer service, and tight deadlines.

    Cons

The turnover was crazy, never seen anything like it. Not even a year of working here and everything started to fall apart, people were leaving left, right, and center – or people were let go in some departments. The wages were under par and the work environment became very negative and moral went super low, bullying was rampant because everyone was stressed and overworked. Little to no assistance from management to stop it. No support or confidentiality from HR. Poor management, and don't even think about a salary increase – they are on a pay freeze across the board – yet the higher ups get retention bonuses. No annual performance reviews or resources to get ahead. Poor scheduling by management, inappropriate behaviour from managers and acting managers. There is no future here as the company is always in peril - this is a dying industry and so poorly managed. Described as the "Titanic" –  jump ship before she sinks.
