In the past, we had seasons when we had work shortages which resulted in cash flow issues. Rather than laying off staff, we explained the situation and asked everyone to help us through these difficult periods by agreeing to half pay measure for a fixed period. Participation was voluntary. Some people did opt not to go on half pay and we respected that.
After the cash flow stabilized, we restituted the missing half pay to the staff affected - this happened about 2 - 3 months after the half pay period.
