Pros
The atmosphere is professional and result-oriented but also laid back. Hours are very flexible, and working from home is allowed.
Cons
As you might expect, tax software/tax law is not the most interesting subject. Also, the main downside is that the company doesn't exactly exist anymore.

Pros
Great collaborative team environment... well rewarded for hard work, with a flexible, upbeat management style that's very result-driven. For engineers, you're allowed to telecommute whenever needed, or for some, on a regular schedule. There's a very intelligent and competent core group of technical staff and management, and it's pretty exciting to be doing cutting-edge enterprise development in this environment with this many highly competent developers.
Cons
Learning tax minutiae can be laborious.
