Pros

A nice team at store level...that's it. The city I worked in worked well as a team, with a solid DM leader at one time.

Cons

Where do I start. Poor leadership at the executive level. I have never seen a more self centered owner and her minions who do her bidding for her. The two direct people in her command have God complexes. My DM was stressed out all of the time. They want your focus on the job 24/7. Payroll was horrendous and we were constantly being asked to do more with less resources. Shady business dealings and many underhanded ways of conducting their business. They promise you the moon, but never deliver. I would rather shovel manure than work for this company again (and that isn't fair to the manure shovelers).

Pros

-friendly in store staff -Some nice product -Customers are for the most part very friendly

Cons

-Terrible pay, High ups WILL drag you along with promises of something more but you will only be dragged thru the mud. -expectations are totally unreal -shipments will never stop and you will be stressed out and depressed from trying to do 8 diff task all alone as you have no hours for other staff -all you will hear or read is bad emails about how all stores are falling behind in sales

Pros

-45% discount. -Beautiful environment. -Cute products. -Opportunities to get creative and decorate the store. -Occasional classy customers. -Simple daily tasks.

Cons

-Minimum wage (regardless of your experience or seniority) -A lot of pressure from head office to achieve ridiculous daily goals for our poorly chosen neighborhood (accentuate on the ''hood''). -Explaining to people who can't afford 16$ greeting cards why our 1$ card stock is gone while trying to convince them that shelling out for our beautiful cards is an investment. -Specific items getting stolen (costume jewelry); pressure to look at every customer touching them as a potential thief. -Moody manager; your day will go according to his mood. If management feels like openly criticizing you in front of customers, they will. -Having to engage with a hostile customer even if he's moody or else, you'll get criticized from management. -Head office holding useless contests for 10$ gift cards for whoever sells the most chosen products. -Hours depend on your ''availability'', they disregard students academic responsibilities and ambitions to go farther than selling cards for a living. -Payroll is mainly taken over by manager's pay... -30 min unpaid break. -No benefits... -Doing WAY more than what we're paid to do, time wise, task wise.
