Pros

Using Solidworks and excel was pretty cool for the first few years.

Cons

Pay and raises are under market value. Work is the same all of the time. There is only so much that can be improved with level instrumentation.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Your feedback, while disheartening to read, is very important to Orion. We are currently working on a platform to increase employee morale and foster a culture of cohesiveness throughout the company. We were quite troubled to read that you felt disrespected during your employment. I truly wish this had been brought to the attention of your supervisor, manager or myself while you were employed. This would have allowed us to address this issue head on and correct it. We have recently added all open positions to the bulletin board that is available for all employees to review. This allows all employees the chance to apply for new positions and, also, to recommend someone they feel would be a good fit for the vacancy. Decisions as to whom gets placed in a new role must go through several managers prior to being filled. Our genuine hope is that the most qualified candidate is selected. Thank you again for your feedback. Your comments will help us to continue to make changes that will ensure Orion Instruments is a better place for all employees.

Pros

The people here treat each other like family. For an example, one of the employees who's house got flooded, was able to stay at a co-workers house for a few weeks... that's just one awesome example.

Cons

The workforce is lean... not too many backups if you are out on vacation. That makes your job critical, and sometimes increases pressure. I guess that is sometimes a good thing too, you can shine in your job and be noticed for it.

Thank you very much for your positive review of Orion. We are glad to hear that you felt like you were with family when you were employed here. That is one aspect of the culture we are continually looking to build. We are always so happy and grateful when our employees step up to help each other out. The flood of 2016 was a shining example of many of our employees coming together. You are right that the workforce has been lean lately. Unfortunately, due to a downturn in the economy, we had to trim the workforce back in 2016. 2017 blew in quickly, bringing with it a significant upturn in business. As a result, we are currently looking at all departments to determine if they are adequately staffed and will respond appropriately. Thank you again for your review and we wish you nothing but success in wherever the future may take you!
