Pros

Work from home option if you are sick or have a valid reason. Daily catered lunch.

Cons

Never have I ever worked a position at a company that made me tell people that I hate my job. That's how I felt working at Origami Logic. The management is super disorganized with no formal structure and no interest in formalizing the structure. There is also no defined work given and you're told to "do work." Not getting anything specific to do is very inconvenient, leaving you with no growth in your career and prevents you from learning any new technology. That being said, there's an exception. If you are fake and artificial and know how to get into your manager's head, you will be the one chosen for any new projects and given any new task that comes by, even if there are people in the team more experienced and working longer than you. It is very annoying working at a company where your teammates act like high school children and don't know the meaning of team work. Instead of working together, you are part of a team where they are out to throw you under the bus so they can get work to do while you rot at your station with nothing to do other than basic stuff. Being in a team where you don't talk to your teammates at all is a pretty bad place to be, where the manager is the only person each team member actually communicates with. Work times are even more inconvenient. You do not have the freedom to come and go as you please unless you are one of those favorites who can be super fake and get away with things. Advice to anyone who wants to work at Origami Logic: You must either be Israeli or fake and constantly kiss up to your manager if you want to be treated as a human being and have an okay work experience. If you are normal, real, and the type of person who minds their own business and doesn't go out of their way to sabotage others images, then this is not the place for you because you will get destroyed. This is a company where majority of the people are unhappy. People have left this company due to lack of opportunity for growth in their career. When it comes to culture, there is none. You would think a start up is a fun place to be while you work hard, but instead you're in an environment of boring people who have no life and no interest in anything other than their job. Fun is forced upon the employees with occasional parties to celebrate a holiday, but those parties are poorly arranged and defeat the purpose of bringing excitement to the company. The culture is strict and not flexible at all. Only boring people who are robotic are the ones who survive here, or people with no skills but know how to act smart when they're not. At the end of the day, Origami Logic is not a pleasant company to work for and I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a job.

Thanks for providing us with your feedback. I’m sorry you had this experience at the company as the environment we’re striving for is collaborative & genuine which we take pride in. We’re building towards a big vision and there’s always more interesting & challenging work to be done than people in the company: We’re tackling difficult technology challenges for some of the biggest brands in the world which we would never be able to deliver on without a team effort and a lot of heart and soul... As an entrepreneur, I believe that our path in life and in our careers is what we choose and make it to be - rather than being a captive passenger on a pre-set trajectory. If you choose to look for a change of place, I wish you all the best and hope you find an environment that’s a better match for your needs. If you choose to stay, I would love to chat to best understand and address your concerns. As you know I’m just a few feet away in our open space environment. Thanks again for your feedback, Opher Kahane

Pros

-Prime location -Catered lunches -Very bright employees

Cons

-Promises of warm, team-focused culture, but politics are very prevalent, and people turn on others constantly. It's very cliquey, but relationships do not seem genuine. -Managers expect you to be online/accessible at all times - literally NO work-life balance (working at home at 10pm is the norm) -Constant never-ending technical issues with the platform that prevent you from accomplishing your tasks (that being said, the engineering and technical teams are top notch and always more than willing to help) -No genuine compassion in the least for employees/team members

Pros

The team is growing at a fast pace, and has attracted some of the most intelligent and engaging talent from around the country. With team members located internationally, and an office filled with an array of cultures and backgrounds it makes Origami Logic a really cool place to work. Management is approachable and fairly easy going. The work is constant and you won't spend time twiddling your thumbs, but there are the occasional breaks to grab coffee or go for a walk with co-workers. Lunch is catered daily and there are tasty places to grab sweets after lunch. The office is moving from a cool spot in Menlo Park to an even cooler spot in Downtown Mountain View. Good company culture, hard work, and fun are the cornerstones of any growing start up that is successful and desirable to work at, Origami has all three.

Cons

You can't surf Facebook all day and be a passive contributor. Just hoping my 'Con' discourages lazy people from applying.
