High Stress, Low Pay

Pros

One Source is a small family owned business with a lot of growth under its belt. There are ample training opportunities within each department. There were several team member promotions offering gift cards, lunches and fun outings.

Cons

The company is rapidly growing and facing the pains that come with that. The Operations positions often offer low pay and high stress. Typically if a persons is out, their workload is barely covered. Coverage was a constant struggle with several employees not asking for help as they knew no one could help. The Client Relations department is green with most employees being newly hired within the last 8 months. Burnout was a major problem in both areas. Team members often felt overwhelmed and were told by Senior management that things were not “that” busy. There was a sense of distrust between leaders where information often felt it had to be guarded.

Pros

Family-owned with strong Christian values. Leadership very knowledgeable about background check industry and HR industry. Did see pay increases during my time there: $5000 at 6mo review. Bonus at Christmas time. Most of the office software/equipment requested to perform my job were provided. Each performance review was positive and constructive with little negative comments. Leadership seemed satisfied with production and abilities.

Cons

Pay & high turnover. Owner refuses to pay much over minimum for operations talent which is hourly. Support salary positions are paid way below standards of similar job descriptions. Because of the low pay, most of the talent is new to the office environment (first office job for most) & therefore do not understand how to work with other professionals. Many are young & fresh from high school or college. There is a lot of talking behind one's back and being reported to leadership vs. confronting each other with concerns or issues directly. It's childish. Leadership did little to stop it. It often felt as though they thrived on the attention/drama and it would end up in "coaching opportunities."

Nice owners, low pay

Pros

Work is easy enough to pick up on, family that owns the company is nice, the office is comfortable

Cons

Low pay for a high pressure job with little to no help at times, small office that feels very clique-ish, used to do a lot for the employees, but that is no longer a priority for them.
