Pros

- Good discount on products (although not really a pro since discount gear doesn't pay the bills) - good amenities - talented team with good skills

Cons

- Higher ups do not care about employees at all. They will lynch you in a second and hire the next guy or girl in line who is eager to work for the company the moment you try to give input or suggest changes. I have seen many colleagues come and go because they did not agree on certain aspects of a project, and many negative scenarios and unethical practices/tactics to fire employees for no cause. Their marketing works in terms of making them look good externally, but from an internal perspective it's toxic, narcissistic, and a cesspool of people who think they are better then everyone else. - Lack professionalism and work under fear tactics. - Always telling you that you are replaceable and using "the brand" as a way to keep you under control. - higher ups gossip, and create toxic situations. treat regular employees unfairly and look to them as inferior additions to the company. - morale of the office is super strict and a bit rough to walk into after working here for a while. You really start to notice the self entitlement that the company prefers when they hire people. It feels like highschool again. Groups of "clicks" who gossip and pretend to be your friend but really, they are just there to drop the words "I work for NI" and "I'm a *insert job title* for NI". - hypocritical. their marketing suggest they want to help musicians and showcase a welcoming home but it is anything but that. - Zero support, training, and growth. They are not here to help you succeed. Instead, they are wait for you to screw up and not tell you so they can use it against you and toss you under the bus. - No valid reasons for staff firings and layoffs. I saw many of my talented colleagues let go out of nowhere. This is not a trust worthy company.

Pros

I've worked for a lot of companies but Native Instruments truly rules. Native is continuously releasing excellent products that are equipped with top notch technology, developed with the latest tools the industry has to offer. Native is a well deserved market leader in all fields of their business as the products they release are exceeding the market expectations while continuously setting standards and trends before the customers even know themselves. Especially the executive board plays a tremendous part in the positive development of Native Instruments. With their expertise of classic management theories they are able to address all occurring problems without the necessity to listen to employees or industry professionals. They just know whats best and always take the right decision. Every management decision is explained by the CEO himself with full transparency and empathy. In my opinion he is a role model for every other c-level manager out there even beyond the music industry. Open doors policy is vividly lived and in the town hall meetings there are no taboos regarding questions that can be asked. I’m so proud to work for a company in which the executive board can immediately detect redundancies and is able to professionally undertake them. The executive hirings are also outstanding! New colleagues in the executive board don’t even need to know the market or have to be long with the company, they are just that professional to start their job from 0 to 101%.

Cons

As a lot of people don't understand how genius you are and don’t value at which great place they work - some voice very unfair accusations here on glassdoor. The executives and especially the HR department could do more efforts to silence these opinionators and make everyone understand how lucky they are. Just use the classical management strategies like fear or loud voices. Furthermore get rid of more redundancies especially people with other opinions than yours and sue all people that telling lies about Native.

Pros

Great peers who are passionate about music, nice community area. During the time before all the layoffs the mood was relaxed and people got work done.

Cons

Indecisive c-level management. New projects get cancelled last minute resulting in massive layoffs (3 in the past year!). People are quitting in hoards resulting in a very serious brain drain. Global headcount reduced to around 400 from a high of 650. Overall lack of motivation in the office. Lack of career opportunities for ambitious and hardworking people. Pay is low (expect 15-20% under current Berlin market rate) and no performance benefits (bonuses, etc) resulting in no reason to overachieve. Sexist work environment.

We appreciate your feedback and we realize it is a difficult time of change at Native. Parting ways with 100 of our colleagues has been the most difficult part of our transformation, but we had to make some structural changes in order to be able to execute on the new vision. In regards to career opportunities, we do strive to provide our employees with development opportunities and will be creating a more structured approach to this in the coming months. You have mentioned here some matters that we take very seriously such as a sexist environment and we'd like to investigate this in greater detail. If you could please contact the People team to share more details around specific situations, we'd appreciate it.
