I worked at NJM Insurance full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good benefits and decent PTO (that you typically can’t even use)

    Cons

If I could give 0 stars I would. I worked at NJM for 12 years & it just got worse & worse! Micromanaging, HR doesn’t evaluate work complaints/issues, management retaliation for employees reaching out to HR, over worked, under paid, unrealistic work expectations, ALWAYS looking for who caused the issue/mistake instead of using that time to fix the issue/mistake, base promotion opportunities & employee treatment based on their own perceptions, rumors & heresay. NO work life balance at all, low employee morale in ALL departments, management is clueless as to what I was working on or how the work is even done - yet they are the ones that evaluated my work...

I have been working at NJM Insurance full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Throughout the pandemic, a lot of companies are struggling and laying off people left and right. NJM has stayed strong and has given us the ability to work remotely to continue to do our jobs and support our families through this whole situation. I'm grateful to get up every day and work for a company that not only has financial stability, but also shows compassion for its employees at a really challenging time for me and my family. No employer is perfect in every way, but I couldn't be prouder to work for a company like NJM.

    Cons

In light of everything going on in the world, nothing immediately comes to mind.

I worked at NJM Insurance full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Health insurance is good and you work with really nice people

    Cons

If you want to move up be ready to kiss peoples butts! Favoritism exists everywhere and no matter what you do or how hard you work, if you don’t have approval or kiss butt forget about moving up. This place is in crisis and going downhill fast

I worked at NJM Insurance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits, in the last 2 years they are dwindling away at what they cover, so the healthcare options now are not as great as they were a few years ago. Free soup daily. 401k Coworkers are really nice and supportive, if you can find time to actually talk to them between calls.

    Cons

Personal lines dept is micromanaged to death. they bring you in with the promise of growth and the salaries but there's no growth here. It's internal but there's a lot of neoptism that goes on there. Supervisor says one thing and another supervisor says something else, you don't know what is the best way to conduct yourself during calls. If you have a mental illness, be sure to be protected under ADA/FMLA because they do not care about you or your illness, you're one breakdown away from losing your job. You're in a "team" but most of the time it feels lonely and like you're ostracized from the group. Save yourself and run away from this place.

I have been working at NJM Insurance full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The pros? It’s easy. It’s the normal things you have read. The benefits and 401k are easy answers. NJM can bring you in that way. The way they keep you? Several answers Pre pandemic? Work hard you’ll get rewarded. I promise. If you go to work and work hard you’re will be able to move up the ranks and get noticed. Management does a great job at evaluating talent. Also the vast majority of people you meet here are extremely nice and friendly. Top to bottom it’s enjoyable to come into work. But... the best way to judge any company is when the chips are down. COVID19 is the prime example of chips being down. The company had done an excellent job with their resources accommodating employees AND customers alike with their unique situations. I’m so extremely privileged to work for a company that will do anything for their employees and their customers - they’re able to find that perfect medium. The teams are able to hold daily meetings to bond with each other - were able to bond as a company, share ideas, and grow together during the most difficult times. Management has done a terrific job, you can tell they put n lengthy hours to provide the employees such as myself resources to assist the customer. No one is biting the hand that feeds them. Want to know the best way to judge a company? See how they act with the chips down. Today as I write this - you wouldn’t be able to tell the chips were down. I would recommend this company for many reasons but nothing more reliable than how it is during this pandemic.

    Cons

This is not applicable - thanks.
