Pros

Great work/life balance, low stress levels and acceptable benefits. Management is very lax on their expectations of work throughput. I would recommend this place to a friend just because it'll most likely be an easy job but not if they're looking to expand their horizons and look for a challenge.

Cons

Alright place to collect a paycheck. Not the place to be if you're looking for a challenge. Company openly follows the market leader for innovations, which is a safe choice but stifles bold innovation. Major projects lack clear ownership and ultimately shuffled around in a game of office politics. Inter-office ambitions brew behind each corporate decision and ultimately ends up in situations wherein "too many cooks are in the kitchen" so simple decisions take upwards of months. Very little focus is on delivering quality products or experiences and more upon metrics and internal corporate tenets which show up easier for stock holders on reports. As others have said, all of this results in a project that could have been completed by 4 university graduates as a final project in 3-4 months actually taking hundreds of developers and engineers and years to complete; ultimately under-delivering and underwhelming when released to the public. It lacked a clear and understandable vision of the goal.

Pros

- Good work and life balance. - Opportunity to learn new technologies. - Working with Amazon AWS - Enough freedom to try and experiment with new things. - Many friendly and nice developers ready to help you. - Good salary although not comparable with big companies (Amazon, ...)

Cons

- Not in downtown and far from all the events (Meetups, ...) - Can't compete with big companies to hire and keep good developers. - Turn over is too high. - For most employees, it's a dead-end and the only way to promote is to go to other companies. - Inefficient communication between offices (Santa Clara, Richmond, ...) - Employees are paying the cost of poor management with a layoff or losing annual bonuses.
