What are your colleagues talking about?
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
Great company culture and over vibe at the company
Cons
Remote work and time zones are hard
- Current Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
- The kindest, most talented people - Interesting design work - Learnings from the best of the best in the industry - Extremely organized, process-oriented - People seem to genuinely want to be friends and know each other as humans
Cons
- Fast-paced environment - Working alongside so much design talent can be intimidating and mentally challenging at times if you aren't used to it (but the people are open and kind enough to talk about imposter syndrome) - I came from an extremely diverse company and was a bit shocked at how many white people there are at this company (especially on the design team), although I know they really care about diversity & inclusion
- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Incredible culture & clients. Leader in remote.
Apr. 27, 2022 - DesignerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Top clients you can’t find anywhere else - World class talent I learn from every day - A leader in remote, have been doing it since the company opened its doors - A wonderful human culture
Cons
- Leadership at the top is not overly experienced or inspiring. - Current CEO seems to not fully grasp the magic that is Metalab and their focus in product. I gather he may be slowly trying convert it into becoming the bloated average agencies of the past he comes from.

Growing Pains, but Good Intentions
Mar. 1, 2022 - Web Developer in Vancouver, BCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
People at MetaLab are all very friendly. Work-life balance is quite good overall.
Cons
Management is reluctant to work on growing employees, relying on hiring into the company instead. Senior employees are too busy and nobody seems to feel empowered to improve their situations.

Would definitely recommend
Jan. 11, 2021 - Web Developer in Victoria, BCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Super flexible work style. - Lots of support for each other between employees. - Great dedication to being a good place to work.
Cons
- Teams and departments are very siloed. It makes sense for how the projects are run, but it is still siloed nonetheless. - Very little documentation on processes, it's a lot of "figure it out as you go" which can lead to not meeting expectations you didn't know people had.
