I have been working at MetCredit full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Metcredit can offer a long term career in a recession proof industry. Salaries are fair and you have the opportunity to earn 6 figures a year. Being a salary + position you can basically decide what you want to earn. Benefits are decent with additional perks as well.

    Cons

I see no cons with working at MetCredit.

I have been working at MetCredit full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I used to work a lot of retail jobs as well as jobs that required me to work holidays. But I was so shocked to find out that I get every holiday. That was a nice little surprise! Also more about the job itself. I found that when I ask for support the managers gave constructive feedback that allowed me to grow in the 3 month probation period. Also, did you know they provide fresh fruits for all staff and it is free! Thank you MetCredit.

    Cons

The only con was having to get used to morning shifts. But when you only have to work Monday to Friday and get off by 5 every day. You become thankful for a set schedule! So really, I can’t even think of a con!

I have been working at MetCredit full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Opportunities to grow in a booming industry. Help people make financial decisions that can lead them to improve their credit and lives. Management is passionate and supportive. Job is challenging and fast paced. Owner goes above and beyond to communicate appreciation to employees. Lunch room stocked with fruit, condiments, peanut butter/jam, coffee, espresso, teas, oatmeal, hot chocolate, milk/almond milk. Long term secure employment.

    Cons

Job can be mentally taxing at times. "Thick Skin" can be required when dealing with certain people over the phone. Lots of misconception around the position and what it entails.

"If you're looking to break out of the minimum-wage cycle and have strong work ethic this is for you!"

I have been working at MetCredit full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

For those who are competitive and driven by money, this is an extremely well paying job to have. This is not a minimum effort place to work. The training is thorough and we have a tiered system so you have the potential to make commission within your first 3 months. You need to have strong emotional intelligence, good charisma, and be a quick learner. We hire collection agents at an entry level so anyone has the opportunity to break out of the minimum wage job cycle if they have a strong work ethic. The benefits are good, we offer discounts on public transit passes and we offer paid vacation after one year of employment.

    Cons

Working with people going through financial crisis's can be extremely emotionally draining. Because there is so much to know about the industry, a lot of learning is through mistakes being corrected, so if you are unable to let things roll off your shoulders this job can be very damaging to your self-esteem. There is pressure from management to hit and exceed targets. The communication between the branches and managers is minimal which can cause rifts between teams which causes moral to drop because staff will feel other teams or branches get special treatment. There is minimal support for the collection managers.

I have been working at MetCredit full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Helping people get out of collections, so that they can focus on non-stressful passions in life. Knowing that I am making a positive affect on someone else's life when our accounts are dealt with alongside the debtors in hard times and able to let them set their lives up for their future. Working here has taught me so much; especially when it comes to things I should not do.

    Cons

Being yelled at by debtor's who do not understand the severity of their Credit. All our job entails is to help people better their Credit for themselves and people who may be attached to the individuals. It sometimes can be stressful, especially when you have personal issues and come to work to be yelled at by people who don't even know you. We get called names for providing our service to those who actually need assistance.
