Pros

No pros of working with Mercom Communications...

Cons

1. Company is a family business. CEO, MD and HR are close blood relatives. Big big big con... 2. All that matters is punch in and punch out time which is from 9.30 am to 7 pm. 3. Not a good place to work for media related employees. 4. People you report to, especially if you join as a journalist to write for them, know nothing about journalism. 5. No leave during first whole year of the employment. 6. No benefits or compensation. Forget bonuses or medical coverage. No PF. 7. Salary is calculated excluding weekends. Weird... but true.

Pros

That boss of your previous company, your stagnated growth in ex firm and that phase of unemployment everything feels better after joining this company!

Cons

1. Absolutely no benefits of working in this firm, no PF, no insurance and no team lunches NOTHING! 2. Zero work life balance! The management people dont have a life for themselves and you are not entitled to one! 3. You are expected to punch in and punch out on time else you will face salary cuts, salary will be deducted even on days when you come 20 minutes late and stay back for 2 hours beyond office hours 4. The MD of the company believes she has all the rights to shame and shout at employees, complete absence of corporate ethics. You start wondering if you are an employee in a corporate firm or a bonded labour. 5. The employees aren't supposed to have their morning coffee breaks till the MD allows them to. There are days when she conveniently takes personal calls and chit chats on phone during meetings wasting everybody's time. 6. It's a family run business, the CEO shouts at you, drafts a mail to the whole team announcing you are worthless and the MD takes it from there and announces to the whole office that you are unfit. You end up questioning your capabilities every single day. 7. The only job of HR is to keep a track record of your office timelines. Never seen a HR work from home throughout the year. Talking about HR issues in this office is like bombing oneself. The HR never addresses any of these queries, instead takes it to the management who maintain absolute silence or fire you for disobeying them. 8. You are expected to work on weekends for which the company will provide no monetary benefit but yeah you turn up late to office on weekends (for which you won't be paid) you are entitled to salary cuts! Such corporate policies!! 9. The company first imposes a 2 year bond on you and provides no training. No casual leaves in the first one year of employment, 2 days of sick leave and lots of salary deductions!! 10. The other two positive reviews are written by the management themselves

Pros

There are no pros of working here. The place only takes without giving anything in return.

Cons

No provident fund (PF). No Sick leaves (3 days in a year, are you frickin' kiddin' me?). No medical reimbursement policy. Few holidays. Long working hours. Weekend work without pay. They cut salary for even 5 mins. of coming late, as if the HR's sole concern is that.
