Pros

Comp package, other teammates, cross agency project exposure, core clients

Cons

Zero onboarding, non-existent guidance, support, communication and/or active management by group account director who made it clear I was flying solo and had to stumble across or consult with another GAD for processes, assistance, insights and counsel. Senior leadership provided little true leadership and despite an above average result on the annual n performance appraisal, the speed at which dismissiveness was overtly demonstrated was encyclopedic not to mention disrespectful, unprofessional and unjustified.

Great place to work

Pros

Starting a new job is never easy, you’re not only getting to know new clients and their business but adopting new agency processes. Since day one everyone at MRM has been extremely welcoming and helpful, going out of their way to ensure I’ve felt supported and making the time (which anyone in this industry knows is a luxury) to really teach you This culture is a result of a great Senior Leadership Team that foster respect and have created an environment where everyone feels valued. MRM ensures everyone feels respected and included, through planning agency events focused specifically around really getting to know your peers personally and celebrating everyone and their unique self. Overall a great place to work and grow!

Cons

None that I can think.

Turning around

Pros

Toronto MRM team is small enough that individuals can make a real impact; old guard is leaving/being let go, and new management is turning things around and making this a modern agency; new McCann Worldgroup Canada CEO is fostering more collaboration between sister agencies; benefits include the usual stuff, but with 100% coverage for dental, massage, etc.; central downtown location near St. Andrews subway, King streetcar and connected to PATH; team culture slowly building; big push to diversity client roster; salaries inline with industry and raises exist but only where deserved; extra (4th) day off with all long weekends;

Cons

Some of the old guard remain and are coasting, which drags everybody down; team spirit was low but slowly building with new fun people.
