I have been working at Leidos full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Timely expense reimbursement and bi-weekly pay. Brought together the two best consulting firms with the most experienced consultants.

    Cons

Consultants are only what they bring to the bottom line. No bench policy any more. Just a number. The only person I knew was my CPM who is now gone. Too many layoffs. My practice management team was laid off. Lack of communication. Leadership does not respond to emails or messages. Everyone seems unhappy and consultants are leaving in droves. Projects are mismanaged and overbudget. Disconnect with...

    Advice to Management

The corporate leadership should not depend on just a few to make the decisions. Things are not going to get better until they talk to everyone including consultants. Know what your practice management does and doesn't do. Meet with staff at the large client sites. Be transparent and respond to concerns from your staff in a timely, honest fashion. Quit trying to hide what is going on.

I have been working at Leidos full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good brand name, professional corporate culture, overall good company doing great work

    Cons

No sick days, education reimbursement remains an illusory benefit, and parental leave is substandard for the industry.

    Advice to Management

Would be nice to have some extra benefits like other big government contractors.

I have been working at Leidos full-time

    Pros

    1. Amazing and inspirational culture. 2. Great work environment 3. Opportunity for growth

    Cons

    1. The way holidays work are slightly off putting; not all federal holidays are acknowledged. 2. Sick leave is counted as PTO 3. You have to build your PTO from zero onward as opposed to having a set base and building from there

I have been working at Leidos full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good work/life balance. It's easy to make up missed hours, and it's extremely rare that to have to work overtime. Pay is decent

    Cons

Every single tool and program you use will be an ancient, in-house, buggy mess. Can be hard to change jobs if you work here very long, as every piece of technology they use is non-standard and/or obsolete, so you don't gain any experience with technologies still used by other companies. Your will only spend about 10% your work day actually coding. The rest will be spent dealing with massive amounts of bureaucratic...
