Far too much work to be done,which is to say we were understaffed, and deliberately so. Salary was not commensurate with the amount of work expected, and promises that were made at interview were not honoured. Best avoided, I would say, as there are much better employers out there.

This school is under new management so things were a little chaotic and the role of each member of the management was often unclear. This made it confusing to know who to go to when I had a question, sometimes they wouldn’t be able to answer my question, at other times I would get an unhelpful, rude and surly response. When I had a meeting with management they interrupted me and argued with me when I tried to express some concerns. This school did not have any staff meetings or teacher development at all during the time that I worked there. The absence of staff meetings meant that there was little communication about things that I needed to know to do my job. I was quite disappointed to see that the school was not committed to staff development, after a cursory training I started teaching, I was never observed and given feedback on my teaching, nor was I allowed to observe another teacher’s class, so I just relied on my own training and experience to prepare and teach my classes.
