Bad Management = Miserable Environment

Pros

Pay and benefits have the potential to be a little above-average; it depends on whether you really want to have a life away from work or not. It's a pretty good business that does try to expand and improve; coworkers (non-management) are supportive.

Cons

The owners are out of touch with reality. This is great place for worker-bees who like to be lorded over and treated like scum while the business robs Peter to pay Paul. Mrs Owner in particular has a short fuse and bad temper; it's unfortunate she wears the pants and runs the show. It's an emotionally unhealthy, high-stress, hateful, black-cloud environment because of a few people who happen to be at the top of the food chain. Basic good business practices such as training, scheduling, human relations, etc., are lacking. EXAMPLE: The vacation package sounds good, but it's near impossible to be granted the time off.

Thank you for your comments. We at Kessler are learning everyday how to become a better company for our employees. As with any company there are learning curves, and we know that communication is an important factor needed between employer and employee for all of us to become successful. In any line of business it is constantly changing, this is why ongoing training is another factor we pride on teaching our employees. We know at Kessler we will not be the perfect fit for everyone we hire. But for the employees that are a fit, we try to make it the type of environment our employees are excited to come to everyday.

Pros

You learn a lot about printing in a small amount of time. Quarterly meetings are fun.

Cons

The office culture is to cover your own butt. There is no morale or camaraderie. When leadership works you to death (8-5 is never good enough) and treats you poorly, you don't want to come to work. It's miserable here. It's challenging because it's fast-paced but anyone can be trained to do the job. If better leadership were in place, or if current leadership changed their attitudes, we would all want to work harder and do a better job. This is a pointing fingers place of business.
