Pros

Pay is about average for an LA company Some nice people to work with Good food in the kitchen Nice location

Cons

Same as things were at Vantage, no technical leadership or direction, no product direction, and high turnover. This is a fine place to stop in, but most people leave once they find another offer. Everything is monthly/quarterly numbers, and the tech team is under-skilled and based in Guatemala., combine that with the high turnover and lack of product direction your are looking at a unrewarding workfplace.

Pros

Some good people, good benefits.

Cons

Upper management is predominantly clueless."Lets move IT, Business Intelligence and Engineering to Guatemala! We'll save TONS of money and get 10X more people!". Good call boys. Level of technical competence in this tech company is abysmal. Good performance isn't rewarded and achievements supported by data are disregarded in favor or CEOs "feelings".

Pros

The companies makes a lot of money

Cons

CEO, Patrick Quigley: 1. Treats people very poorly in general. Calls people out in large meetings, thinks he knows more than the specialists in the area - you get the picture... 2. Thinks he knows what it takes to build software products, but he does not have a clue. What products has he built before? 3. Forces people to deliver upon unrealistic/unreasonable timelines. Their Guatemalan engineers were essentially forced to deliver an entire SaaS using the latest in real time technology in 3 months, when they didn't meet it they were squandered 4. He applies very questionable business ethics to the companies practices. Due not share conversion data with them!!! Their are not programmatic, in fact their CMO is directly involved in weekly vertical specific meetings to discuss price setting based on current pub and advertiser performance 5. Myopic and quickly jumps into conclusions and quickly executes on them - a very dangerous combo. CMO, Patrick Cross: 1. One of those people that talks fast to sound smarter types, too busy to talk to anyone below him 2. Like CEO, directly mandates product specific features and changes down into development. 3. Also like CEO, he does not understand what it takes to build software, forcing folks to abide to top down delivery dates, but is the first to criticize when bugs come up. Culture: - Empty offices both in LA and in SF. So, bad office atmosphere - Cut throat culture - Every decision must through the Patrcks, bringing morale down and ruining any sense of ownership - B to C quality personnel in general Benefits - health is good all others are either bad or expensive, no 401k matching at all - Layoff policy 2 wks pay. Yikes!
