      Pros

      good kids, convenient afterschool job if you're in high school

      Cons

      A lot of the strategies the "principal" and more senior staff members use to work with the kids are outdated and not rooted in any current education literature. You're considered a bad teacher if you don't yell at little kids. If your goal is to become a real teacher, don't think this place will teach you anything good. Bosses go around bad mouthing staff to other staff. Everyone is underpaid, raises and opportunities for growth are promised in the interview and contract but don't actually happen.

      You are required to drive No promotion opportunity Employers taking advantage of employees who don't know the law Change company rules frequently, which might be not fair to some employees

      Decent experience for aspiring teachers

      Children were great to work with The material was easy to teach as it was based on a workbook Can get experience teaching multiple grade levels at the same time

      Cons

      Felt like a daycare at times Days were repetitive No room for growth, promises of performance review every 6 months for wage increases during the interview but never happened Wage not reflective of work (minimum wage)
