- WFH / Remote First

Cons

- Leadership wanted to shift the business model of Jane.com, however it's business and technical plans to do so were not well thought out - Revolving door in leadership, new CEO every year, new leadership members who are gone a year later - Purchases a bunch of vendors but value add is unclear

Pros

Good benefits and a lot of free goodies. Fully remote.

Cons

- Senior leadership team simply does not trust their employees. All competing for the top position, too busy looking up the ladder to help their teams evolve in any positive way. - The level of micro-managing is off the charts and demoralizing. - Never bothered to do an exit interview, even when requested, HR neglected to set it up which gave the impression that they simply don’t care. - The site is old and clunky which makes for a terrible user experience for both the customer and the employees trying to work with it. - Workload is intense, 24/7 on call

Pros

The people I have worked with have been superb.

Cons

There has been a lot of turnover in the engineering department, primarily due to bad product decisions, and organic turnover from a very competitive job market. As much as it has hurt morale, there have been glimmers of hope. A new VP of Engineering, and a new CEO who understands that we need to put resources into the department if this company is going to succeed. I trust that they are able to turn the ship around.
