Pros

Fellow coworkers were all wonderful!

Cons

Processes and requirements were extremely poorly documented. If you ever missed anything, no matter how minor, you'd get scolded publicly. Nepotism between the CTO and another employee was also a huge issue. No raises were ever given. Work-life balance was poor. Both the CEO and the CTO have no problem bullying and belittling employees, and many employees have been driven to tears from poor treatment. Despite promises that we had just completed a round of funding, the majority of the company was laid off with 0 severance in November with no warning over an email. Issio claims email was the only option for layoffs because our access to ALL systems had to be immediately revoked due to FEDRAMP guidelines, however this is easily disproved by reading the actual FEDRAMP documentation. Final paychecks were wired and wire fees were deducted from our bank accounts which getting refunded has been a nightmare, along with getting the proper final paycheck amount. Despite claims, upper management has never reached out for a call to discuss events or offered letters of recommendation. All claims that employees have stolen equipment are false as Issio has not properly facilitated return of said equipment. The company cannot be trusted to refund any expenses so employees have been requesting prepaid boxes and labels which Issio has been refusing to facilitate, and management has instead gone the route of threatening to call the police and waste valuable law enforcement time on a civil matter. If you're looking to work here, do not as long as the current CEO or CTO are in charge. They are cruel and unempathetic and will not hesitate to use you to further their own goals.

Pros

I had the pleasure of working with such an amazing team. They truly made coming to work a joy. We built an amazing culture during my time there and wanted to build the best product possible.

Cons

Lack of transparency from the CEO, no warning of any layoff when 70% of the company was laid off, we were all laid off with no severance package or extension of benefits, checks were incorrect for final paycheck, laid off in a mass e-mail with no kind of message from CEO, was paid far below market rate, lack of work/life balance, no sense of diversity

Issio is a small company which was suddenly lost a government contract due to government budget cuts. As a federal contractor we have to protect Federal data and had to let people go with out warning to protect the data ( a requirement). Then we emailed each person to explain the situation and offered to talk to each person individually, which we did. This is a very unfair narrative that our company objects to in the firmest way possible. Our company also offered to write letters of support to all laid off employees to help them get new employment - this was something we did for a few former employees. We are hoping to rehire some former employees who want to return once business picks up again as it appears to be doing. This former employee has illegally retained company equipment and was vindictive to various other employee.

Pros

Some of the coworkers are nice

Cons

- Leadership lies about future prospects - CEO is a coward and can’t address people directly - CTO is a narcissist, comments on everything, is a micromanager and ever looming shadow, anything he says goes no matter what, expects workers to be there outside of work hours - Layoffs happened with no warning, via email, with no severance or benefit extension, at the end of the year. Leaving employees out in the cold - Nepotism is rampant and there is extreme favoritism - I have truly never worked for a more horribly managed company than this. Leadership is in over their heads and the company is going to fail. Deservedly so - CTO is completely resistant to change unless it’s their suggestion - Do not touch this company with a 10 foot pole - Benefits are terrible and they do not give raises or even hire at a competitive rate

Issio is a small company which was adversely impact by government budget cuts. This particular employee has lied consistently about the company and his comments above are really vindictive and of no merit. He falsely represented himself in an initial interview as being able to be a release engineer and then could not perform and then was constantly out of office training for his marathon. He also has refused to return company owned equipment to us. As a federal contractor we have to protect Federal data and had to let people go with out warning to protect the data ( a requirement). Then we emailed each person to explain the situation and offered to talk to each person individually, which we did. This is a very unfair narrative that our company objects to in the firmest way possible. I know this individual got a job within two weeks of being let go so I don't know why he had to post these horrible comments on this forum. Our company also offered to write letters of support to all laid off employees to help them get new employment - this was something we did for a few former employees. We are hoping to rehire some former employees who want to return once business picks up again as it appears to be doing.
