I worked at IronPlanet full-time (More than 8 years)
Pros
The Fort Worth office is one of a kind! The culture is amazing, and the people are great - everyone from the temps to Sr. Management to the Executives. Even the HR team does a great job, and everyone is always willing to help out another team member if needed. This office breeds workers, so be prepared to work hard, but you will reap the benefits. I suggest trying to get in with the GovPlanet team or Inspection Services as those department are growing rapidly, and have an extremely helpful management team. The team morale is unbelievable! There are very few cliques, and little office drama gossip compared to most companies.
Cons
Little to no training in every department (which weeds out the weak, so not sure if that is a con), The interview process can be excruciating as it can be hours long depending on the job you are applying for. Finally, there's too much free food! Not good to have a desk job and eat all day long!
Advice to Management
Stop talking negative about colleagues/coworkers/other employees in front of your team. It really is a morale killer (You're still rad though)!
I worked at IronPlanet full-time (Less than a year)

I worked at IronPlanet full-time
Pros

Cons
Sales has all the power
Advice to Management
Not sure what will happen under new acquirer.
I worked at IronPlanet full-time (More than 3 years)
Pros
Relaxed environment, great coworkers, free food and snacks. Good Insurance .
Cons
Disorganized upper management, you never get the support you need. Systems are outdated. People in leadership positions go back on there word, co workers have been told they were getting a raise, then they didn't. Entry level pay for everyone except executives.
Even if you get promoted, your raise is negligible, less than $100 a month after taxes. The company always seems to dangle a carrot in front of you, you never get the carrot. It's not worth it to work your way up in this company as it is not worth the time. Company cuts corners and does not take care of their own. If you happen to make a decent amount of money and are paid more than your peers, you will have a target on your back on how they can let you go, even if you are doing an excellent job.
Advice to Management
Compensate your employees at market value.

I have been working at IronPlanet full-time (More than a year)
Pros
Competitive compensation.
There are people there who are really committed to doing the best job possible.
Cons
Sr. Leadership! Most of them have been riding the CEO's coat tail for years and have just been hanging on until their next big payout with the Ritchie Bro. acquisition. They were only interested in getting the hog fat enough for slaughter and not actually building a great company.
Advice to Management
Why bother giving them advice.....they'll all be on the golf course or in their vacation homes after the acquisition goes through,
I worked at IronPlanet full-time (More than 10 years)
Pros
Open minded to new ideas to tackle new challenges.
Cons
Sometimes the workload was extensive but that was to be expected with success.
Advice to Management
Better variety for auction day lunches.
