Pros

Invoca has a compelling product and many native integrations which solve for specific & differentiated use cases.

Cons

Payroll doesn't always get processed on time, and after you leave, don't expect to be paid at all. Leadership seems more interested in soft cultural metrics than in ensuring that key departments like HR and Payroll are run by capable professionals. Not only is this bad for retention and reputation, but it speaks to the ineptitude of key leaders.

Lots of talk, no action

Pros

There are a small group of people that I couldn’t recommend more as great people and coworkers. If you’re lucky enough to work with them, you’ll have fun, learn, and accomplish things.

Cons

- Upper management has personal conflict between themselves that clouds their view of decisions that should be objective business decisions - Many people prefer to pass along work, knowing that the key to career advancement at Invoca is to talk about what you will do instead of what you actually have done or are doing - Total lack of trust between departments. For a smallish company, that prides itself on “culture” and winning awards for the best place to work (an award that definitely isn’t given because they pay for the survey the company provides) every department thinks their counterparts are lazy, incompetent, and self centered. Is everyone right? Is no one right? It doesn’t matter because you stay in your silo with your own group thinkers. - Hope you like slack huddles and zoom calls! You’ll be in 500 slack groups that you can’t mute because once a quarter you’ll receive a ping in each random group that suddenly you need to respond to ASAP. - expect every new project to be poorly defined, pushed by their manager, and then be immediately put on the back burner as soon as a new shiny project is brought up.

Decent company but going down hill

Pros

Fantastic benefits and flexible work schedule.

Cons

Venture backed company so expect layoffs during turbulent economic times. Little to no opportunity for career advancement as the company hardly promotes from within because they do not want to take the time to prepare employees for those roles. Invoca is regarded as the most sophisticated call tracking software but because of this prestige, leadership has neglected how far the competition has come. Their competitors have almost fully caught up to Invoca’s main differentiators but at a fraction of the price. This neglect also applies to marketing as Invoca has let the competition dominate them in brand awareness. Unfortunately, the product is becoming antiquated and companies are trending away from navigating customers to their phone channel. Disorganization and a lack of direction is a huge issue for the company. Many employees receive no guidance and resources to improve. During my years there I had one performance review.
