Pros
Muse's mission is to help people make positive changes in their lives and improve their overall well-being through lab-grade, EEG-powered meditation and sleep support. If you love tech and want your work to positively affect the lives of others, this is the place to be! Work remote or in office. Weekly company wide meditation sessions. Supportive and mindful senior leadership.
Cons
The day-to-day work is fast-paced and always evolving. If you're someone who thrives in routine and habitual tasks, it's not for you.

Pros
Company really cares about employees, customers and product. The product and technology and company culture is really amazing. As a member of the research and science team I can say the company is highly innovative in really creating tools to improve people's lives, and the company really truly cares about the science. It's amazing to see. When the pandemic began in March/April, it required some big changes very quickly as global suppliers stopped fulfiling product and retailers shut down. There were a lot of global changes to manage to very quickly. It was a lot for sure. In retrospect, the management did an amazing job doing what needed to be done, and doing it very quickly. Like in most companies, it sadly required cutting some of the team, but the management did a well considered job and managed the remaining team through it, and even hired back team members as soon as they could, demonstrating a a real care for the employees and their wellbeing. Everything is running very smoothly now as we work from home, and the team dynamic is great. Great collaboration, great engagement, and we are effectively able to innovate and create amazing products and support the existing product with all of us working from home. The entire company participates in roadmapping activities and everyone has a voice. It's the best place I've ever worked. Lots of opportunity to learn and grow and be on the cutting edge of technology. Amazing company culture, filled with respect, transparency, learning, and a big mission that's actually being fulfilled.
Cons
Start-up life is fast paced and the product technology is complex so it needs a lot of interdisciplinary interaction. You have to be committed and on your toes.

Pros
Great CEO, highly transparent and empowers staff to take ownership. Supportive culture, people take care of each other and work well as a team, politicking kept to a minimum. Challenging industry and complicated product, makes for exciting work. Very smart and driven talent across various disciplines.
Cons
Tough industry and growth trajectory, makes access to resources challenging. Some key leadership roles missing/misplaced that create gaps.

Pros
Potential. Huge amount of potential. Intriguing and original idea steeped in neuroscience. Inge.
Cons
What a train wreck. Hopefully my negative review won't be deleted as I've seen some other negative ones deleted. Half of us got laid off last week and it's convenient for senior staff to blame it on the virus but this has been a long time coming. Company hasn't moved the needle in a long time. Muse S - an expensive cloth Muse 2 never lived up to anything and now we're expected to push hard on sleep. Meditation Studio - an acquisition of an app with no users and a CMO with no creativity and still providing little interest is another bust. Marketing has been dead for a very long time with the same website messages and boring repetition - slashing prices over and over. Having worked closely with product I can say, from candid conversations, there was no inspiration there either with frustration at having to make changes that never improved a terrible churn rate. We were always rushing to end up developing something flawed. Nobody in the company was motivated by the product. Nobody in the company, from what I could tell, ever used the product. Never understood why decisions weren't made to remove the senior leaders, especially the CEO for terrible performance and no ideas. I wish I was at the company 3 or 4 years ago to compare what times were like when the company was motivated by science and research.
