They can’t right the ship

Pros

The people are some of the nicest you’ll meet. The relationships are what you take with you. There ARE some jerks, but there are jerks anywhere. You’ll meet lifelong friends and valuable connections there.

Cons

Layoffs for four (five?) years in a row. A result of losing business year after year. The company spends endless time and money pitching new business (that they rarely win) at the expense of the business they already have—which leads to losing more business. The pay is on the low end of the spectrum—they used to imply that the fun culture would act as a supplement for that but I don’t think they can really pull that off anymore. Raises are rare. No cost of living increases. Very little chance for advancement.

Mean Girls + Clueless + Old School (Get the picture?)

Pros

• Time off between Christmas and the New Year • Vacation, personal, sick and flex time is great* • Paycheck twice a month • The few nice people that are still there • Receptionists are the nicest women you will ever meet. • Studio + Digital Imaging Dept. is amazing and highly skilled in design and illustration but are under utilized. • If you are an "A" type personality you will thrive there, if you are not.. you are trampled over.

Cons

• *It's extremely rare to actually take time off, it's looked down upon unless you're upper mgmt. OR if you do get some time off, you still end up "working from home" anyway • Top heavy with upper management (Creative/Account Directors through VP's) • Egos, brown nosing, and cliques are rampant • Sorority/Frat house atmosphere • Thrown under the bus in a second unless you make key relationships and feverishly maintain them • Account Dept. IS the gate keeper of Clients • Creatives developing a relationship with Clients is a no-no • Account regularly doles out creative direction with no input from the Creative Dept. • Don't be surprised when someone in Account opens your creative files (yes they have access to Adobe Creative Suite) and edits them to their liking or places their own comps into presentations. • Account is basically your first Client. that you must please • This is not a place where Account supports and sells the work simply because the Creative team deems these are the best options to solve the problem. • Everyone wants their thumb print on the work so be prepared to accommodate for every last edit from every person involved • A creative suggestion actually means, "Make my edit because I'm keeping tabs on you." • Diversity is not their strong suit, they maintain a few token "faces" to make the Client tour look good. • Stop pretending that this is an episode of Mad Men. These in-store displays and counter cards aren't saving any lives.

Pros

Location: Denver More words because Glassdoor requires a minimum word count, but not because there are any other notable pros to acknowledge.

Cons

Basically everything. The place has dwindled from about 600 to about 300 people in the last 3 years... and rumor is more layoffs are coming. It's due it being run by a bunch of talentless hacks and dinosaurs who have stayed their entire career, with zero exposure to the rest of the world. The people who remain are there because they can't get a job anywhere else. And they're miserable. Avoid at all costs.
