A Very Unhappy Workplace

Pros

Good salary and benefits, bonus (if criteria is met).

Cons

Verbally abusive and very unprofessional. Managers scream fbombs all day long and rule by intimidation. Favoritism runs rampant. Once management has you where they want you there is no opportunity for advancement.

Pros

End of the year raffle prizes

Cons

I strongly urge any prospective interns or engineers to not take any position at this company whatsoever. This company is saturated with a culture of fear and animosity. Annoy a manager and you could be sent to a department unrelated to your job title. Company morale is low. I liked many of my fellow employees but could not stand to be around them for too long, as many were depressed and only complained about work. Innovation is squelched because almost all major projects are proposed or controlled directly by the owner. The company is antiquated in a lot of its practices. The PLM software is a nightmare that many of the managers barely know how to navigate. Only one person in the entire company performs FEA as far as I know, despite there being maybe 50 mechanical engineers in their department. The assembly line almost looks like something out of a 1920s Ford factory video. Training was poor -- it felt like if you ask a lot of questions as a new hire, you are seen as mentally deficient and not capable. The individual in charge of training me was not hands-on with what he was teaching me, so I had to cobble my knowledge together from a variety of sources, which often led to embarrassing situations in later positions where I was expected to know things I had never been taught.
