I worked at Grainger for more than 10 years

    Pros

Stable company with a very diverse workforce. Benefits are in line with top companies

    Cons

eliminating branch locations and hundreds of local jobs even though locations are profitable. More concerned with shareholders than also worrying about the employees and being a strong partner for both.

    Advice to Management

Be better at identifying talent and developing them.

    Pros

Gold standard benefits Profit sharing Healthcare mostly paid for by company Great for people who want to be lifelong sales people

    Cons

Cannot move up easily in roles. Less qualified individuals will get the roles over and over again even if you have been networking relentlessly. This has happened three times already in 6 years for me.
