I worked at GAME Digital part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Incredibly easy work. You spend a lot of time just scanning things and making sure that things look presentable, so (obviously) there's a lot of downtime for banter. A really generous game loan program where you can take out games for a week at a time so long as it’s pre-owned.

    Cons

If you like having things to do, this probably isn't the job for you. You also have to be willing to deal with a lot of people who come in for a place to hang around, which isn't necessarily a con — they're usually people whose main hobby is gaming, usually with developmental problems. They usually hire way more people than they need, so they're splitting up a (small) number of hours among lots of people. A good fit if you're a student. My manager seemed constantly stressed out, even though he was kind, just because he was frustrated by management

  7. "Great people, fun atmosphere, fast-paced environment"

    4.0
    Former Employee - Sales Assistant

I worked at GAME Digital part-time

    Pros

    - Build your confidence talking to public in a busy space - Testing your knowledge on the industry - Good insight and exposure to the business side of Game Digital and competitors

    Cons

As with many retail sales, hard focus on KPIs which can irritate customers

    Pros

Directors do actually care about the community as much as people assume they don't. The CEO is one of the nicest people I've ever met. They are always trying to find new ways of making the business work, which people often interpret as them being idiots, but I got a real sense that they're doing it because they care about their employees.

    Cons

Very tense because of the businesses future.

I worked at GAME Digital full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Staff that aren’t managers try

    Cons

The last store manager spent all his time on the phone! Never helped and was more worried about how other managers saw him then how the store ran! If the store was doing well it was his work if it was doing poorly it was mine or the other managers fault, also policy’s are a joke! Getting in trouble with LP because there are 4 different policies on the computers and still getting a warning is a joke
