Pros

While direction and governance at the group level appeared relatively clear and structured overall, the situation at certain listed subsidiary levels differed drastically by leaps and bounds. As this review is posted under the group account, it does not directly reflect the group as a whole, but rather the specific listed subsidiary being referred to.

Cons

The listed subsidiary’s CEO leadership demonstrated blatant favoritism, prioritizing loyalty and flattery over competence, performance, and professionalism. Workplace gossip was not only tolerated but at times fueled by senior leadership themselves, creating a toxic environment that damaged employees’ reputations and undermined trust across the organization. Leadership credibility was further weakened by questionable expertise and a lack of strong professional standing, while capable employees were sidelined in favor of bootlickers and yes-men. The CEO also appeared more focused on drafting lengthy emails to HR to justify personal disapproval of employees than fulfilling the actual responsibilities of a CEO — leading the business, driving strategy, and delivering results. The subsidiary’s weak market performance and internal dysfunction were, in many ways, a direct reflection of these leadership failures.

Good benefits but toxic culture

Pros

Good benefits and WFH days

Cons

Shocked by the number of toxic colleagues who have been in the company for the longest time just cruising and unmotivated. Extremely poor quality of managers (very incompetent), relying on the team to do reporting to the big bosses while they live in their own bubble. Progression is based on favouritism and people with larger portfolios, standards are inconsistent despite exceeding KPIs. Lack of empathy and judgemental bunch of "know-it-alls". Horrible experience.
