Great company culture. I felt at home as soon as I started. They are well organized and are very helpful.

Cons

I did have to drive a lot which is something I didn't plan for.

Pros

I worked for other companies in Madison and I can say that FMI is by far and away the best one. I enjoyed my time with them and most likely wouldn’t have left if Madison hadn’t turned into sheer insanity with the types of people that now inhabit it. I do agree with the other review that work is piled onto employees when others quit. But that’s business. Why hire more when current employees can cover what needs to be done. It is VERY clear what FMI asks from you when they hire. Everyone moves out on the last day and moves in the first day of the month. No exceptions. You are required to work those days no matter how they fall. If you don’t like it don’t apply. I liked that structure. My bosses were great. Flexible with time off. They really do care about the employees and needs to have a life outside of work. Never did I feel like I wasn’t appreciated. Pay was great! Benefits package is pretty decent for a small family owned company. I would absolutely go back to FMI if I ever moved back.

Cons

It’s so laid back it’s almost frustrating. It’s every man and woman for themselves on turn over days. Teamwork gets thrown to the wind. No rental discount. No room for advancement. The regional and CEO/CPA are not going anywhere anytime soon.

Terrible benefits- Basic health insurance plan is expensive, must be employed for 5 years before you receive any additional vacation time. Commission bonus pay has never increased, yet their rents continue to increase significantly each year. No work life/balance- You are required to work 8-5 Monday-Friday with no flexibility to that schedule. You will need to be available to work weekends and holidays if it is month end and the beginning of the month. For company wide paid holidays off, some employees are required to work while others aren't. Small company with ZERO advancement opportunities. They continue to merge positions and give current employees extra work versus hiring a replacement. Policies are not consistent between offices and little to no communication from upper management. Education and training are not provided to keep up with current housing laws. Employees are not appreciated and they don't do anything to show appreciation for their employees. Low employee morale, very high turnover. Current employees are miserable and burnt out. Understaffed, overworked, and underpaid.
