Pros

You are not micro managed.

Cons

Well for starters, I am not a licensed PA. He wants me to get my license and it is scheduled, but I am working as if I am one. Secondly, he does not help guide me. I am left alone to figure out things I have no experience with. His demeanor changed with me within the last week. It is almost as if he is always searching for something better in an employee. He has openly talked down on another emyployee with me and other employees. One of my first days there the office had a meeting and he started off by saying “I am not a narcissist” and that has always stuck with me. Phil wants to argue and will try and get anyone to do it with him, but he of course holds composure and makes it look like the other person is the problem. I have a feeling raises and or bonuses are nonexistent. He always pushes off important conversations. Loves a happy hour. I don’t know, something is “off” all around.

Pros

The presence of excellent co-workers was the only pro. Unfortunately this was overshadowed by the owner's abysmal management, which lead to the departure of all talented individuals from the business.

Cons

The owner exhibits numerous shortcomings. Firstly, he consistently displays condescension, despite repeatedly forgetting information provided to him. He has no clue about the majority of things on the operations side and had clear favorites in the salesmen. Moreover, his absence from the office suggests a lack of knowledge about the business as a whole. Additionally, he dismisses employees without hesitation and frequently tells blatant lies. Furthermore, he has made inappropriate statements regarding women and minorities, which is unacceptable in the workplace especially given the social climate of 2023. His notion of fostering company culture involves inviting staff to stay after work hours for a glass of whiskey. In conclusion, I strongly advise against engaging in any business dealings with this individual; he is manipulative, greedy and frankly lacks the mental sharpness to conduct himself of business in a professional or successful manner.
