Pros

One good thing I can say about this company is the training. They have you go to the corporate office for 2 days before they send you to the property which is nice because then you have the tools that you need to do your job. The trainer that I had was awesome but am sad to say she is no longer with the company. They had this great 2 day conference at Thunder Valley that was fun but didn't really learn much because they crammed a whole lot of information in a short amount of time. But it was nice to be out of the office for two days straight to eat good food and win prizes. Other co-workers are very helpful and friendly if you have a question. The HR department is amazing probably the best part of working for First Pointe were the ladies in HR they are very friendly and supportive if you have a problem.

Cons

Now to get to the nitty gritty!!!! I was an assistant property manager and have to say I felt more like a leasing agent. So if your applying for an assistant position your really applying for a leasing position and if your applying for a manager position your really applying for an assistant position and if your applying for a Regional position your really applying to be an off site Manager. I know several people who have quit because they are not allowed to make any real decisions on their own without having to go through a chain of people in the corporate office which could take several days to get a response and by then the resident is in your office cussing you out from frustration.. If I wanted to be a leasing agent I would have applied for that position but 10 years in the business I wasn't about to start at the bottom where I had already paid my dues. And the move out process is such a waste of time what took me a half hour to do with another company would take me at least two hours to do with this company for one dang move out. I mean really what's the point of scanning the whole entire file to corporate after you have already sent it to the accounting department. Having to scan a residents file and heaven forbid that person has lived there for 10 years and they want every piece of paperwork in that file to be scanned and attached into Yardi is a huge waste of time that I could have been working on other things. I was more of an accounting person/leasing agent that got paid peanuts for the job that I was doing. And really I understand the importance of taking pictures when someone moves out but really to have to make copies, then upload them into the computer and make a folder and then sit there and name everyone of them is a huge waste of time I feel the copies being put into the files should be enough to have as backup but to send them to corporate and then to be called and asked what are we charging them for because the picture isn't clear to them is just ridiculous, its done its done just trust us that we are doing our jobs right, after all your the ones who trained us to do it. I could see if there is a mistake then yes call me and point it out but when every thing is good but you still just want to call to clarify that it was done correct then don't waste my time with a phone call. I'm busy!!!!! To many hands in the pot and not enough trust to do our jobs that we were hired to do is stressful. I love property management but this company made me want to change careers but thankfully I am with a company that trusts their employees and I have a great Manager position a real Manager position and yes I get to make real decisions without having to ask my Regional if I can go to the bathroom. So if you like to go to work stressed and feel incompetent on a daily basis then apply with them.

Pros

Possibly could be training that is if it is approved and if you leave you have to pay them back.

Cons

To the point you will be micro managed like you have never experienced before. It doesn't feel like they care about their employees. I had an awful incident happen at the property and not one person from this company reached out. As soon as I find another job I am leaving. After all of the good people they have lost I don't understand why they don't change some of their ways but that is a perfect example of why they feel they are right "corporate" and nobody else knows anything.

Wouldn't recommend it...way too strict

Pros

Decently good pay compared to other property management companies in California.

Cons

Compared to other PM companies they are way to strict, and have the fingers in too many pots as far as software goes for the onsite staff to work with.
