Pros

Free soda dispenser and occasional free snacks in the break room

Cons

The “IT Director” and “Network Operations Manager” make inappropriate "ADULT" jokes like it’s a frat or sorority. The tech department is expected to always be on-call, 24/7/365. There is no dedicated time off that you should expect, not even weekends and nights. After working a full day, the “IT Director” will ask you at 4:55pm to go to a store that night after 10pm and stay until the hardware remediation is complete. Even if you need to stay until 4am to complete it. Until I pushed back, they would expect you to show up the next day at 9am. They say that they have an on-call rotation, which is partially true, but they have so many problems from lack of planning and dysfunctional inexperienced management that it might as well not exist. They say that it’s only “sometimes” or “occasionally.” They are lying. Things break at Daily’s daily because of stupid and completely avoidable problems like poor cable terminations, flawed systems, unskilled technical staff, and vital networking devices hanging from power cords. If you try to take time off, you will be targeted. The employees frequently fake illnesses to get time off. The “IT Director” flipped out on the tech department and had to, most likely due to administrative action, take a week off to cool down. They pride themselves on overworking and gloat about working 19-hour days over Christmas while 6 months pregnant like it’s admirable and not crazy. Previous employees hated this company so much that they (most likely previous employees) hacked it and held it for ransom over that time period. The management obviously tries to hide as much as they can about this from the current employees. The company executives think that you’re stupid and that they own you. Like the owner’s secretary asking “where are the smart guys” when referring to a specific person or the leadership team expecting you to pick up phone calls at 6:30am on Saturday because of paperwork issues. Everyone in the IT department gossips about each other with each other. They would rather incur expenses due to a new employee’s mistakes than create any onboarding process or documentation. Almost no one knows anything about IT (or anything) here. The “IT director” has no IT experience and doesn’t realize that the Sys Admin, Network Operations Manager, and Lead Tech are lying to her about the root cause of many problems. They purposely create problems that only they can fix like providing new employees with outdated faulty device images, moving/mislabeling cables to overcomplicate problems, and blaming equipment like managed switches, that they can’t configure, for flooding frames when the device has Spanning Tree Protocol enabled by default. Many of these same people pretend to be Christians to gain favor with the executives. Many of the employees are so young, inexperienced, and or desperate that they don’t realize how ridiculous this place is. The only reason to work here is if you’re under 25 and you need experience.

Daily's--easy job that doesn't pay well.

Pros

Great people, good working environment, great customers, easy job.

Cons

Bad pay, no upward mobility, inefficient upper management, and little to no investment being done to the stores. Daily's is quickly becoming old, and their way of doing things will lead to their demise.
