Pros

Beautiful atmosphere to work in aesthetically, 50% of transport paid for and really good uniform benefits (2 outfits a month(no you can't choose them ))

Cons

The absolute worst job I've ever had. I’ve worked at McDonald's and enjoyed it more. Working at Farm Rio seemed like a dream, but little did I know what would follow. Absolutely no management, atrocious communication, malicious intent, and always speaking down to workers. To summarise, I worked at Farm Rio for a short period, and straight away, I could tell it was going to be difficult. They had hired two people, including myself, to work in a luxury retail environment without providing any form of management support or training. The Farm Rio team worked remotely abroad, and management inside the store was non-existent. We had a third person join our team, and none of us had any clue what to do with problems in the store, as we had no one to turn to. When I brought this up with management, they told me I shouldn’t complain and said I didn’t know how to communicate due to my age, making patronising and sarcastic comments. My 8-month-pregnant boss told me she was going to go into labour because I didn’t pick up her call and was stressing her out. When we had a party to welcome our new store to the team, we found out that other people from boutiques had been given Adidas shoes, Farm Rio phone cases, and other welcome goodies, but the two of us working completely alone in a concession didn’t get anything. We NEVER got paid on time, as our payroll team was in Brazil, and holidays were different there. We had our personal phones in five different WhatsApp group chats, which would be getting hundreds of notifications constantly with reports from Farm Rio shops all over the world. Due to all their disorganisation and lack of effort, both of my colleagues left, leaving me completely alone in the store to do every single task. After nearly a month of opening and closing the store every day, I asked for a raise and a job title change as I had far too many management duties and responsibilities. They denied this, saying it wouldn’t be fair on other people at other stores (who don’t do the same job as me and had colleagues). They hired two girls, used me to train them, and then fired me a day before my probation period finished (which happened to also be the day I was going on holiday) so that they could give me less notice as they had already hired a new girl to replace me. When I asked why, they said I didn't represent the stores values.
