Pros
I would first of all say, that this is recruitment and some things are immutable wherever you go: rejection, pipeline swings, and a constant push for momentum. It won’t suit everyone. If you’re resilient, curious, and hungry to learn, twentyAI is a strong place to build your craft. The pros are working with a fantastic team. Smart, collaborative colleagues who genuinely want you to succeed - I’ve learned a hell of a lot. Some of our clients are genuinely top-tier. Access to big, interesting brands and senior stakeholders; mandates that stretch your skills. Getting to go into some of Europe’s coolest offices for meetings was always brilliant! You get really fast development. Early responsibility, exposure across the cycle, and real scope to sharpen sourcing and closing. You will be amazed at how much you learn in such a short space of time. I was also lucky that I had a fantastic manager whilst I was there, who genuinely had my back and really cared about seeing me succeed. There’s also great work life balance. In two years with the company I was never asked to stay late, and the culture is that you finish at 6 and go and enjoy your evening.
Cons
I think progress can be made on trust and flexibility. Not much opportunity for WFH (one day per week), which can feel a bit out of step for a commission-led model. This can make it feel like employees aren’t really trusted to deliver when they’re not in the office. There could also be improvements to communication. Changes to schemes or leadership moves aren’t always communicated clearly or promptly. Promotion criteria could also be a little bit clearer. I would also personally be in favour of more specialisation in the markets and roles we focus on. We cover a lot of lanes, which can dilute specialism and make our external ‘one-liner’ harder to articulate.
