Pros

The absence of bonuses in this compensation structure is actually advantageous, particularly during challenging times. Despite the absence of additional monetary incentives, employees can find solace in the fact that their base salary remains consistent, providing a stable income even when facing economic difficulties or uncertainties.

Cons

I've been part of this organization for a significant period, and by and large, my experience has been positive. However, a turning point occurred last year when the majority owner of the company took on the role of CEO. Regrettably, his decisions have had severe repercussions for the company itself. Among his actions was the dismissal of the entire management team, replaced by individuals who align with his views. The company's atmosphere has shifted to one dominated by a culture of fear, with the CEO seemingly proud of these changes, evident from his statements during monthly meetings. The once vibrant culture, characterized by knowledge-sharing and enjoyable activities, has morphed into a monotonous environment where such sharing is practically nonexistent. Previously, I wholeheartedly recommended this company to my friends, citing its positive culture as a key factor, even though the pay wasn't as high as some other companies. However, given the current state of affairs, I find myself compelled to look for a new job. The unique culture that made this company stand out has been lost, and it's no longer a place I can endorse.

Thank you for sharing your reflections as well as your concerns. We are saddened to hear your perspective, personal experience and removal of endorsement. It’s important to us to touch upon your key concerns and will do so, but we would like to reflect on a few concerning claims you included regarding our leaders. Our leadership team is a strong group of capable, experienced and unique individuals that are indeed aligned, however, they are aligned on one important thing – our vision & mission. That said, they are different in their strengths, opinions and focuses for how we get there. This is not only encouraged by our CEO, he expects it in order for us to be successful and live up to our aim to always put people & their growth first. With this said, your reflections on culture as a whole are definitely top of mind (and action) for us, actively monitored and continuously worked on. However, this takes time, so we need and plan to boost our energy here with initiatives in 2024. Including a focus of company efforts around internal communication and diving into our culture to strengthen it together (as culture isn’t something contrived). This is particularly important when it comes to any feelings of fear – we want and strive to be a place of open and constructive dialogue from which we must grow. And while we appreciate that this is an anonymous sharing platform, we always would appreciate the ability to continue the conversation should you be open to it – to continue in our growth as a company. If so, please reach out to either your manager or another local leader that you feel comfortable with who can surface further concerns. Thank you again for your reflections and for your valued 8-10 years that you have shared with us thus far, spreading knowledge and supporting our mission and we hope the changes we continue to make will reflect positively on your experience and change your perspective on the culture for today and for tomorrow. -tretton37
