* Worked closely with back-end Python developers who really knew their trade in the blockchain space they were in. * Researchers, to the best of my knowledge, were also very impressive - super competent, knowledgeable and excellent thinkers. For me, they are the real value of this company. * Decent system administrative team with a positive vibe and very helpful when called upon. * Offered time on a weekly basis to invest in self development. * Provided me with a new, top of the line Macbook to work on. * Good health insurance package available.
Cons
* Was subject to poor management and an unfair dismissal. Was led to believe there were no issues and shied away from communicating true feelings, only then to be used against me as a reason to terminate a contract at the end of the probation period! Completely disingenuous. No offer to appeal. Makes you think that they could say anything they wish to get rid of you when their plans change around staffing/direction/expansion. * Leadership lacking a sense of direction and internal alignment, causing frequent confusion and friction. More transparency required. * Odd hierarchical structure - reporting into a research director as a developer. Perhaps a more technical team leader role is needed to bridge the gap. * Approached by HR to submit a positive Glassdoor review just 3 months into the role. It was clear to me we weren't in alignment around the purpose of Glassdoor, so I made it known that I was happy to do so after my probationary period and some longevity. Glad I waited now! * Other than health insurance, company perks were flat. * No sign of any bonus.
