Pros

People are lovely, company meetings are fun and (trivial but important) great coffee in the office! Great work/life balance, good for workers with kids. Colleagues are always available to help.

Cons

We have been asked to post a feedback here and unfortunately I have to agree with previous comments saying that there is an issue with incompetent managers at memoQ. Don't get me wrong, people are wonderful, but the leadership clearly lacks the necessary skills for their roles. Some managers are easily overwhelmed and defensive, struggling to handle stress and blame others for their own mistakes, crushing team morale and relationships with colleagues. Extremely valid people (probably the best ones) have left the company because of this. And has management learnt anything? No, they keep randomly promoting people without any transparency: no posted position, no interview process, nothing. These things have been flagged to HR several times, but of course they do nothing. There is a huge gap between management and the rest of the company, and they won't acknowledge it. It's sad to see that it doesn't get better, and it makes people think about leaving, even after so many years.

Pros

- You rarely find that kind of work culture anywhere else. You feel that your hard work is appreciated and valued. - You have a lot of flexibility in your day-to-day tasks, and you can really learn a lot if you want to, because the company is full of passionate people with diverse backgrounds. - The company takes care of its employees in a way that I have never experienced before (and I have worked for a couple of those before). - I always got the support I needed, whether it was from colleagues, team members or management,

Cons

- memoQ faces all the challenges of a growing company this size: lack of resources, plans that change frequently, processes that are not clear to everyone. However, if you are flexible and can adapt easily, you will not be bothered that much. Maybe just annoyed from time to time. - Working in a remote team has some disadvantages because of lack of information exchange. Sometimes things are discussed or decided and we learn with a significant delay or "by accident".
