Pros

Very open environment, like family! Members of the executive team are very open to change. Exposure to work with various different departments and teams.

Cons

It is a non-profit so there is not always money to hire enough people to do all that needs to be done. We sometimes run in too many directions.

Pros

The people who work here are friendly and fun. Lunch is catered from local restaurants weekly. You can work from home one (assigned) day a week. Emails and phone calls outside of office hours are not common, so the work/life balance is pretty good. Location is less congested than ITP. Not much in the way of competition, so it's technically a market leader.

Cons

Leadership* has little to no experience in the tech industry. The closest thing to experience with a software company any of the leadership had was an attempt cash in on the dot-com bubble. Sadly, that's a lot what the product here feels like, but with the mobile app boom. It's marketed as a tool to help people of faith grow spiritually, but within the company it's treated as last ditch effort to funnel faith-based content into a medium that isn't dying the way their affiliated bookstores are. C-level and director-level employees receive bonuses and raises on top of their hefty base salaries. The developers, designers, and content creators receive the potential of a $5 gift card and absolutely no hope of a raise. I should also note that this is a startup company running on investment capital. It is not yet profitable, so it's hard to say how long it will be able to stick around. This is a notable risk to consider as a potential employee. *I should note that there is a new CEO here who is improving things somewhat.
