Pros

"Free" food and a whole lot of trouble.

Cons

I'm not going to waste my time trashing the company and owner's conduct since plenty of people have already done it for me. What I will say is it's sketchy that nothing but horror stories have been posted on this page for what looks like two years and now there's a bunch of positive reviews up within a few days. Not to mention childish responses to every negative review. Watch out.

Glassdoor anonymity allows people to hide without fear of consequence. The commonality of those who posted negatively of our company is the inability to follow instructions and/or write up to standards, and took constructive feedback personally rather than as a tool to improve upon their work. As we were just introduced to Glassdoor and its anonymous postings, as per Glassdoor's suggestion, we reached out to our mystery shoppers so they may express themselves. Each is written by a distinct individual which Glassdoor vetted to ensure authenticity. Though anonymous, we deduced whom initial negative postings were written by: by viewing the date and content of the complaints, which coincide with a particular final assignment by a particular person and the issues they had falling below our standards. Two individuals deleted their initial postings and are repeatedly accusing our company of posing as reviewers. Marc Kravitz, i-SPY hospitality

Pros

It's refreshing to work with a company that provides clear guidelines and offers support to help you do your best. The restaurant evaluations require detail-oriented observation. That said, the reports eliminate the excess BS required by some other companies and focus on what's really important. Marc Kravitz was great to work with and the company has contracts with some excellent restaurants.

Cons

None as of yet. Marc has high standards, so just be willing to adapt your writing to I-Spy's specifications.

Pros

I learned a valuable life lesson.

Cons

So many cons. The biggest con is that I spent my time and money reviewing a restaurant for iSPY Hospitality and despite my best efforts, and after modifying my review 3 times, my review was ultimately rejected and I was never compensated for my work. I have extensive experience as a mystery shopper and I pride myself on my well written, detailed reviews. Marc Kravitz was absolutely impossible to please, he had unrealistic expectations, and his abrasive attitude was completely unprofessional. I have a pay statement reflecting compensation for this job, but not reimbursement for the meal. I never received this compensation and my emailed requests for explanation about this weren't answered.
