Pros

Start-up environment so you get the opportunity to build processes from scratch and have tangible impact. That does also, of course, mean you're doing 7 people's jobs but you win some you lose some

Cons

You'll hear the words 'culture' and 'feedback' being thrown around a lot, on top of very pretentiously having a 'culture fit' stage at the end of the interview process. That is almost always code for 'let's see if they're manageable and won't stand out or challenge leadership too much'. Let me elaborate - I'm neurodivergent and received anonymous feedback criticising my mannerisms and 'in-office behaviour' which I find wild for a company in 2025, boasting its amazing, core-shaking culture. I think what they try to advertise on paper is not being implemented in practice. I'd advise anyone who's a minority and actually cares for D&I to do their best to keep their sanity, as you won't see a lot of that there. Moreover, micromanagement was horrific.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. While we know our culture isn’t for everyone, we take all feedback seriously and are always looking to improve. To clarify, we don’t have a “culture fit” stage in our interview process. What we do have is a values stage. We are a values first company, and this stage is designed to assess alignment with how we work, not to filter for “manageable” people. This stage is also about ensuring that you can thrive here - giving both you and us confidence that this is the right environment for your growth and success. As part of the hx culture, we are proud to actively encourage challenge and debate in our high feedback environment. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with feedback and Diversity and Inclusion at hx didn’t reflect what we strive for. Neurodiversity and inclusion matter deeply to us, and it’s disappointing if you felt otherwise. We have employee led groups to represent particular groups of people, a neurodiversity one would be a great addition. We also appreciate that there is more that we can do as we continue on our journey as a company. We want all hxers to feel valued, we’re always working on how we can grow in this space. That said, we are unapologetically ambitious and operate with high expectations. We know this isn’t the right environment for everyone, and that’s okay. We genuinely wish you the best in your next role. Ash Rama VP People

Pros

i can’t think of any

Cons

The company boasts its impressive values, but they don’t apply to the leadership team. Expect to be micromanaged and pushed hard to meet goals, without any structure, training, or strategy to get you there. The culture is nowhere to be found. The office is dead silent and lacks the camaraderie you’d expect from a startup with strong values and “identity”. Any attempt to impact the culture is met with resistance. Expect overcommunication and endless meetings repeating high level ideas with little time remaining to actually do the work. Thats because everyones going through the motions, but very few know what they’re actually doing. If you’re good at bragging about small achievements, you’ll do great here. If you’re hoping to be intellectually challenged and to make an impact, I’d look elsewhere.

Every review offers a perspective, but some say more about the experience of misalignment than about the culture itself. It’s clear this was not the right environment for you. That happens. Our culture is fast-moving, direct, and built on trust and autonomy. It works best for people who are self-driven, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated by high standards. For others, it can feel unstructured or intense. That’s not a flaw in either direction, just a mismatch. For those it does work for, it really works. We have so many hxers doing impactful work, growing fast, supporting one another, and helping us grow in many meaningful ways. We appreciate your time with us and wish you the best in finding a role and culture that’s the perfect match for you. Ash Rama, VP People
