Toxic and incompetent upper management. They make decisions that are laughable. The CEO is completely unfit for the role and has surrounded himself with yes-men. Slowly, everyone who can is leaving the company. Unfortunately, this completely ruins the experience. High stress, poor work-life balance, and they are willing to let go of — and humiliate — even their best employees.

The data we work with is actually interesting, you’re dealing with massive LiDAR datasets and 4D digital twins, not just boring clickstream data or ad-tech. It’s rewarding to see your models used for urban forestry and helping cities keep their trees alive. The engineering team is pretty sharp, and it feels like we’re building something that matters for the environment.

Typical startup growing pains. Documentation can be a bit thin because everyone is moving fast, so you have to be comfortable digging through code to figure things out. Because the niche is so specific, you’ll spend a lot of time on data cleaning and custom pipeline stuff before you even get to the "fun" ML parts. The "hybrid" working is not too flexible, 4 days in office, only home office day is Wednesday.
