Pros
The people (with the exception of a few) were the best part of working at goTenna. The atmosphere of collaboration had been maintained while we transitioned to remote during covid-19 shutdown. The engineering team is very bright, capable, and was able to learn a lot. You do wear lots of hats but at the same time more visibility into the product and company. You'll never be bored as there is always something to do. You're allowed to take calculated risks and try new things.
Cons
There was a pretty big split between the engineering side and non-engineering side of the company. The most frustrating part about this company is the lack of accountability and plenty of finger pointing. When things are going right, everyone is happy. When things go wrong, leadership starts to panic and make quick decisions for short term band-aid fixes.. Those decisions are sometimes made without agreement from engineering. There was a point where the pros outweighed the cons, but not anymore.
