Pros
The biggest and only pro about this job is the people you meet while you are here, they truly make this job tolerable. The schedule is solid, Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3 PM. Work is not too hard if you get placed in the right department.
Cons
-Pay: When you are hired, during orientation they tell you promises of annual evaluations and performance-based raises and reviews. I have been at this location since the doors have opened (3 years and counting) and have never once had either my evaluation or a raise. Last year in April of 2024 we were informed that raises have been approved and should be done within the next few weeks, Management was tasked with updating job descriptions before raises could be completed, They are dragging their feet getting their own jobs done, but yet still belittle and berate employees about getting their assignments complete. It is now April of 2025 and we still have heard nothing else about this. In fact, you are often disciplined for simply asking about the status of your raise, which makes employees hesitant to approach management. They are losing great tenured employees rapidly, simply because they do not want to pay more. They would much rather you quit so they can contact the temp agency and replace you with someone that has no tenure with the company so they can pay them the base pay for a few more years. This is their business model, not a one-time thing. Our HR rep recently quit for this exact reason, as well as management dumping their responsibilities on her. If you come on as a temp, be prepared to remain one for about 7-9 months as they drag their feet with full-time conversions. -Management: Since the doors have opened, we have been through 5 different general managers. None have lasted longer than about a year. This causes employees to feel that they have to prove their worth all over again just to keep their job secure regardless of how long they have been with the company. We do not even have an in-house General Manager at the moment, which causes a bunch of issues itself. The warehouse was a very diverse place when the doors first opened, but after firing the first 5 managers, the CEO put a "Special Force" (literally what they call themselves) in place. This consists of 4 or 5 managers that travel to our site weekly to run the warehouse, they are coming from our Arkansas location. Since they have taken over, the leader of the group (a Hispanic man) has hired 85% Hispanics and 15% everything else. There is strong favoritism in the facility, and the Hispanic employees receive all of the promotions, they do not get in trouble for standing around talking in large groups, but let it be a white, black, or purple person and they are ready to walk you out the door. The Hispanics also receive majority of the promotions, and positions of power, leaving the remaining 15% of the warehouse stuck in their positions with no room for advancement or higher wages regardless of tenure. If you are a pretty woman, you get walked straight into a Lead position regardless of how long you have been here. And you are usually working directly with management, I sometimes wonder how their wives would feel if they knew their husbands were surrounding themselves with 18-21 year old women while they are traveling to our facility. Our company radio station that plays through the entire warehouse has also been over-run with Hispanic playlists that the 15% of employees cannot understand, we may hear some English songs 1 hour out of the 8 hour shift. If you are Hispanic and want to be favored, and have other privileges that everyone else does not, this is the place for you. -Promotions: We had a major layoff sometime last year, 6 supervisors, and 2 managers. None of these positions have been filled, except for one HISPANIC Supervisor that was fired and then rehired for whatever reason. And even if they were they DO NOT promote from within, regardless of how many times they tell you that. They DO NOT post job availability, and if they do, it is AFTER they have interviewed their candidate and extended them an offer, only then will they display a job posting on a sheet of printer paper in size 42 font on the breakroom wall. We do not have another facility in the DFW, so if you do want to elevate with the company, be ready to sell your house and uproot your family to another city or state to do so. We had a couple that worked for this company for 5 years in Arkansas and 2 more in Texas, they moved their entire lives here to help open the facility, and when they inquired about higher pay they were told there is nothing that can be done for them, so they quit after all of that. -CEO: I believe this is where majority of our issues start, Our CEO tours our facility quite often as this is our "showcase" location where we bring new clients for tours. The way he speaks to management is ridiculous, cursing, shaming, blaming, it amazes me that they allow him to speak to them that way. Which in turn makes the management feel that this is okay, so they turn around and do it to our employees. He does not speak to the employees that work the floor, never thanks them for making him what I'm guessing is millions, we get no free lunches as I've seen other sites get based on these reviews, no bonuses except for a $100 addition to your Christmas check, he does not discipline management regardless of how many complaints have been filed on them with HR, but he is in the news every other day saying how great his company is. -Work Environment: We work in a large 250,000sqft warehouse that has no AC or Heat. The only means of air circulation are the 10 overhead fans that are spread out amongst the facility and floor fans, which we do not have enough of to accommodate our employees. We only have one member on our Facilities Maintenance team after they fired all of his associates which leads to long wait times for repairs and assistance. Management drags their feet on forklift repairs (even though we are making hundreds of thousands of dollars per day). Holiday parties are pizza and a bag of chips, and don't forget to BUY YOURSELF a drink from the vending machine in the break room, while management orders themselves lunch daily at the company's expense. The management office is fully equipped with an HVAC system, Refrigerator, Coffee Machine, TV's, free snacks and drinks, free lunch. I cannot understand how the top earners are receiving free concessions, but the employees that have not been awarded raises in 3 years are paying for them. Of course you can have your holiday off, but you will be REQUIRED to come to work on a Saturday to make up the work you missed for a HOLIDAY. HR cannot help you since they get their information from the managers that rarely ever know what is going on. -Conclusion: Please do not work here unless you are ready to remain a temp until they decide to convert you to full-time, ready to not receive a raise for the next 5 years of your life, and please do not think this is a company to grow with and seek Leadership opportunities, especially if you are not Hispanic. Maybe one day these changes will be made, but I probably won't be around to reap the benefits.
