Pros

Pros: - Positive Work Environment: Stereotypical startup frat behavior discouraged. - Culture: They strived to build a community environment. - Coworkers: teams were supportive, helpful, and generally mature. - Unlimited PTO: Loose tracking of time off. Feel a slight cough coming on? Take the rest of the week off and work from home. - Internship Opportunities: priority given to Stanford students. Some interns were eventually hired full time.

Cons

Cons: - Lack of Diversity: it was very obvious, but leadership denied there was an issue. Women were restricted to narrow roles, and people of color non-existant with no plans for it to change. - No Transparency: Large layoff was unexpected with no explanation. All Hands wasn't very informative or reassuring. - Lack of Advancement within The Company: Senior roles seemed to go to new hires from ivy league schools rather than current employees. - High Turnover: core people left at an alarming rate. This changed the work environment and feel of the office a lot.

Pros

Smart and hardworking teammates, meaningful product scope, and exposure to cross-functional system-level problems. There are opportunities to learn quickly and take ownership when things are moving.

Cons

The company often expects high output without matching it with the time, staffing, process discipline, or technical inputs needed to do the work well. Too much gets driven by urgency and downstream fire drills instead of front-loaded engineering, clear decisions, and strong design review culture. That creates avoidable churn and makes it harder to build quality in early.
