Pros

Yes you heard it correctly, e-GMAT is an ideal launchpad to take your career to any height/direction you want - However your altitude will be defined by how much fuel you have i.e., How much self-driven you are. How much less supervision you need, and finally How much you own your job. Whenever doubts delude you at e-GMAT, just remember - In front of Rajat, Payal, Abhi and Manas- Good Work & complacency can never go un-noticed for a longer duration. The day you do some good work or become complacent - You have sown the seed of a future reward or setback. It is just time which is separating you from it's fructification. As per my ~3 years of experience, these are the three best things which I like about e-GMAT: 1. The only thing which matters is – “Your skill/Analytical mindset/ Your desire to build skills” – Demonstrated for at-least 3 months. E-GMAT (Rajat, Payal, Abhi and Manas) gave me a chance to join the Sales team even though I had zero experience at Sales. They thoroughly tested my analytical way of thinking, and my willingness to go above and beyond. Maintaining the same level – I became the team lead in just 7 months of joining as an IC. Hence, if you want to become a department lead – You need to consistently demonstrate that you can go above and beyond in your daily tasks + you care about solving existing process related problems. That’s it. There is no bureaucratic barrier or red tapism. Be direct and be impactful. 2. Merit will give you wings: In case you are someone who currently likes Sales but would love to try Marketing or SEO or Customer Success. Then, e-GMAT is the right place. There are no water-tight compartments, you can fly to any destination you want – But you need to build your own wings. .Wings are – Demonstrated capability of solving problems, and leading projects. Yes, you’ll have to work hard and beyond office hours if you want to fly and stop crawling. But it’s worth it in the long run. 3. A family like feeling: Trust me, you’ll not feel even for a moment that you are stuck at a place where you can’t reach out to people and express your heart-felt feelings. Rajat, Payal, Abhi and Manas despite being super-busy are available anytime for any personal/professional help/counselling. They have been my guardians and have helped me personally and professionally solve the puzzles of work and life. Your peers would be super diligent people, who are ready to help whenever you need anything. Sundeep- was my wizard for any problem. And yes, if you are lucky you’ll get wonderful Mentors too. My Mentor Shaarang is a current student of a top US MBA program, he has given my career a great boost. So yes – You’ll feel like family here😊 And yes, this is the only company I think exists which gives 18 days off during a 30 day notice period because the employee had a pre-planned family leave, and then got sick. So yes the leaders are true guardians, but don't forget to cry (express) in front of them if you are feeling hungry :)

Cons

Everything in this world- however good it is- lacks something, or in other words – Has a scope of improvement. So does e-GMAT. But trust me none of these are a deal-breaker. It is like you’re to-be bride/groom is pitch perfect, but they sometimes snore at night. So yes, these three things might trouble you sometime but won’t be the reason for a divorce/Rejecting a great partner 😊. But if you are sensitive then, long-term snoring might prompt you to move on.. 1. Lack of emotional outlets – “Heart mangers”: At e-GMAT, you’ll find brilliant people completing their tasks flawlessly day in and day out. But we all are humans, we have our own highs and lows, our own doubts regarding job/life and career. Yes, we all sometime get bored of our work, feel bad if we are not recognized properly. To manage or vent out these emotions we need people to whom we can talk to without fear of being judged. If you are an extrovert, you’ll be able to reach out to the top-management/peers to vent out, but if you are an introvert or choose not to talk about your problem, then unfortunately there is no mechanism to treat these minor heart aches at e-GMAT. So we need managers/mid-management leaders who take proactive care of the “Hearts of people”. 2. Yes John likes cycling, but he can’t cycle for the whole life- When you’ll join e-GMAT you’ll absolutely love your job. But there might come a time where you feel that you have become a robot, at that time either you can persuade leaders and transition to a different role but if you can’t do this then you’ll be stuck in a situation where you won’t know that when will this monotonous job end? John liked cycling, he was rewarded too for cycling all the time, but now he wants to know that what is next for him? How can he become an F1 race driver. So I think this part needs to be fixed. 3. Yes, we don’t have an HR- In such a beautiful company like e-GMAT, we don’t have an HR, So it becomes difficult to keep track of, or resolve some essential issues. A small example – You don’t know where to submit your internet bill, and how much you can submit. These issues are small, but absence of an HR – does take away some mental space from an employee’s mind. So yes, these issues might bother you a little bit, but are not deal brakers. But yes- the second one can lead to divorce so be cautious. 😊
