Pros
When someone asks me about my job, I generally go on about how much I like it. For context, I have been working in sustainability for over a decade in multiple organisations and my job satisfaction has been both high and low in the past. That doesn't mean this role is always perfect, but below is a list of things I like: - The company is fast growing and there are lots of opportunities - A lot of autonomy and trust is given to our team (flat structure) - Line manager is excellent in their role, but also as a people manager - The product itself is good by industry standards - The work is challenging - The breadth of cr360's coverage (CSR, EHS, compliance, risk, supply chain etc.) - Founders care about the product and the company - The product is evolving as the company grows so there is always something new to learn. - Lots of the staff are great both professionally and socially. The culture is very friendly and welcoming with plenty of opportunities for socialising. - Great client base covering diverse sectors and geographies, which means dealing with interesting people and plenty of international work.
Cons
Quick growth comes with growing pains and we are currently putting more processes in place. This is necessary and it is improving the company, but it does take additional time and effort away from people's day jobs (although that is pretty standard when there is a lot of growth or change in any organisation). While there is a useful intranet and some decent systems, there are still gaps and room for improvement on our knowledge sharing. The workload is occasionally quite demanding (because of client deadlines, not cr360 policies) but this is probably the norm for most jobs that are challenging enough to enjoy.
