Pros

When I was there, the getting was pretty good. Free lunches catered every day, some really solid people that had worked there for a long time and I felt a potential future there, and I loved the people. Always positive, great motivator, and I loved working with the other people in my department. And then...

Cons

Entire departments would go missing. Poof! Gone, their belongings still on the desk like that show "The Leftovers". Zero explanation. Then someone I'd been working with was just up and told they were no longer needed. More and more people were just sort of "disappeared". No transparency from the upper management. I knew it was my time to go so I found other work, even though many there insisted things were fine. After I left I had friends telling me they hadn't been paid in ten weeks, or horror stories like their insurance was abruptly cut off. I'm glad I got out when I did. I don't think anyone I used to know works there anymore.

Pros

I’ve read the other reviews on this site and all I can say is that I have had the exact OPPOSITE experience at bpg. I think it’s a great company and one I look forward to working at for many more years to come.

Cons

No company is perfect, but the management team here at bpg are constantly focused on improvement, so things are always getting better.

Pros

Autonomy, you are given the space and tools to build up your skills and take risks. Over 4 years I was able to try my hand at various techniques and build several skills, and built a body of work I am proud of. The relationships I built there, still flourish, and any disagreements were quickly replaced by the ever present deadline. Perhaps it's the mindset of individual, but my experience was not dwelling on things. Follow the 3 "gets" Get in, Get it Done, and Get out, and you are going to have a great working experience. It being a full service shop, you may be able to cross over and see what the other departments are doing, and familiarize yourself with a completely different workflow. However, that is entirely dependent on the individual, no one will hold your hand and walk you over to another department and make you care enough to find out with the company as a whole is doing. Much like life, this shop is all about what you make of it. Perhaps the outcome isn't what you expected, but how often are plans carried out flawlessly? There are kinks in every piece of armor, that's where your evasion, tact, and skill come into play.

Cons

Every shop has cons and we all know what they are. Ask yourself what you bring to the table, and if you feel under appreciated, find a place that does appreciate you. Dedication and hard work will never disappoint you, even if employers do.
